ORATIA COMMUNITY RELIEVED BY WATERCARE DECISION

It is with great relief that we bring you the news that the Watercare Board has decided not to build its water treatment plant in Oratia.

We are thankful that Watercare has recognised the extreme social impact that a decision to build in Parker Road would have had.

We are incredibly proud of our community for the way it has banded together to oppose this proposal and demonstrate to Watercare and the rest of Auckland that Oratia is too precious to lose, and hugely grateful to the thousands of supporters who turned up to public meetings, signed the petition, made signs, emailed submissions to Watercare and expressed their support for Oratia on social media.

We intend to hold an event in the near future to thank the community for their support but in the meantime, sincere thanks to everyone who has played a part in defending our precious valley.

Sorry, comments are closed for this post.

Hi Oratia! I'm not sure where to post this as we don't have a community group... so thought I'd post here (Hope this is okay admin!) I'm in need of a shed/warehouse/covered area for approx 1-3 months to get started on our Tiny trailer House build. It needs to be quite a high space of 5 meters. I can pay $250/week for rent. PLEASE PM me if you know of anything. In this weather I really don't want to build outside and the workshop I will be using in the future is not ready! *Help* Thank you! ... See MoreSee Less
